CBD is everywhere these days. You can smoke it, vape it, or buy it in baked goods online. CBD extracts might come with other beneficial ingredients like turmeric or terpenes. No matter what your schedule looks like or how you prefer to consume CBD, you can find a solution that is legal and accessible.
One common way to ingest CBD is to infuse the cannabinoid into food. A drop of oil or tincture can be easily infused into spreads, oils, and beverages. CBD isn’t intoxicating, so you can enjoy CBD for breakfast, lunch, and dinner without feeling stoned.
Use these suggestions (and recipes) to easily infuse CBD into your daily meals and enjoy the benefits of this cannabinoid all day long.
Adding CBD to your food is as easy as dropping some oil into your morning beverage. Add a dropper’s worth of CBD to your cup, fill it with coffee, and stir! CBD is safe to consume with caffeinated beverages. A dropper in a mug is often more enjoyable for people than a dropper underneath the tongue first thing in the morning.
Be cautious that since CBD oil is oil-based, mixing is required. If you let your coffee settle, the oil may separate and create a funky texture on your lips.
If you have CBD flower, you can also grind it up and add it to loose-leaf tea. Like THC, you will have to decarb your flower before putting it in tea or an edible. It’s possible to decarb your flower in the oven, but you can also buy special equipment that decarbs your flower with more accuracy.
Don’t want to worry about an oily texture or grinding up CBD flower? Blend your CBD oil into a smoothie, protein shake, or other beverage. CBD plays a key role in athletic recovery, so it makes addition to your post-workout treat.
Blender bowls are another hot trend that fill you up and provide your daily dose of fruit. Here’s a CBD-infused blender bowl recipe that we love:
CBD oil doesn’t have to be a morning ingredient. You don’t have to drop CBD onto every salad, sandwich, or steak that you eat throughout the day. Infuse it into spreads and base ingredients.
One of the easiest ways to infuse CBD into food is to make cannabis butter, or “cannabutter.” Cannabutter doesn’t require much - just some CBD oil, butter and water!
Put two cups of butter, one cup of water, and 20mL CBD into one pot. (Chop the butter up into small pieces.) Set the oven to low heat and let the CBD infuse for two hours. Once the time is done, let the mixture cool, stir, and move to a bowl. Refrigerate and use whenever you want to add some CBD to your meal!
The easiest way to infuse CBD into food is through oil-based food products. Many of these oil-based products work for cooking or frying foods. Whether you like stir fry, sauteed vegetables, or baked goods, keep some CBD cooking oil on hand.
If you want to cook with CBD cooking oil, you have options. You can buy CBD cooking oil online and start cooking without any hassle. Another option is to infuse cooking oil with CBD isolate.
Infusing CBD isolate into oil simply requires a double boiler and one gram of CBD isolate for every two ounces of cooking oil.
Set up your double boiler so the first pot is on a low boil. Place the isolate and cooking oil of your choice into the top pot and let them mix together. This should only take about 10 minutes! Once the oil is infused, move it into another container and store in the pantry or fridge.
CBD-infused cooking oil is the center of many CBD-infused recipes. Try this one to make CBD-infused pesto and have an extra special dish of pasta. (You’ll have about two cups of pesto when you’re all done.)
Enjoy the pesto with salad, pasta, or roasted vegetables. Store the remaining pesto in the fridge when finished.
If you don’t mind some extra sugar in your diet, you can also blend CBD into a mousse or whipped dessert. Simply stir the CBD into the dessert before serving.
Can’t choose between CBD in your coffee and CBD in your dessert? Mix CBD into your tiramisu!
Don’t want to go through the trouble of making your own CBD-infused edibles? You can buy them. There are plenty of CBD-infused foods on the market. In addition to baked goods and beverages, you can buy CBD-infused spreads to add to meals that you already eat.
Take CBD-infused peanut butter. You can add a spoonful to a smoothie. Or make a CBD PB&J. If you’re craving Thai food, you can make a CBD-infused peanut sauce for your spring rolls. The options are endless if you’re creative!
CBD oil is safe to consume, but may produce mild side effects. Consult with your doctor before taking CBD oil or any form of CBD.
